How to Choose Pillow Insert Size It's typically recommended to use a pillow insert larger than the pillowcase for a nice plumpy pillow, especially for the older flattened pillows or fiber fill. Sometimes, for 100% Hypoallergenic Polyester Inserts, after filling, pillow will decrease about 10% - 15% in size. The toss pillow covers feature 18"x18". So, for best results, now 1-2 size up larger inserts are recommended to buy together with the items to provide full pillow from corner to corner. I loved that the color was exactly as shown. These have a velvety feel and look great for autumn. I can not attest to durability at this time as I have only had them for a week but so far they are perfect.I love these covers. I’ve had some light blue ones for over a year now, maybe closer to 2, and they’ve held up great so I ordered the rust. Only issue is the zipper stitch has ripped on one or two BUT that’s likely because I prefer to stuff a 20 inch down pillow into an 18 inch cover. They’re a fantastic value.
