First of all, these really are water proof. I have 3 cats. One of them like to poop on the couch recently....not sure why. I have another one that will pee on anything that is soft and is left in a ball, like a blanket or sweatshirt. We bought a brand new couch when we moved into our new house and knew we needed something to cover the couch and keep the cats from ruining jt. We ended up buying 4 blankets in total (the main couch is a 10 ft by 13 ft sectional and we have a love seat). These were for sure a life saver! I am so glad we bought these! My pooper cat did poop on them twice and my pee cat peed on it once. The pee did not soak through at all. Washing them was a little difficult. I would recommend only washing one at a time and ringing out the water prior to putting it in the dryer. It also took two or 3 times in the dryer. I assume it's because of the material.
